Born in 1991 in a town near Frankfurt, Germany Ruth grew up in a wild hearted and big family with four siblings and a wonderful garden. Pencils, scissors, paper and anything similar caught her attention in her early years and without her conscious decision, which leaves her with a feeling of deep gratitude to this day. The passion of creating something out of nothing on a white sheet has never left Ruth since. For ten years she visited the Hénon Art school in Dieburg, and was taught techniques and colour management by the English artist Sue Hénon and the French artist Sylvain Hénon. Eventually the camera found its way into Ruth‘s tool box as well.
After finishing school, Ruth went away to travel and live in foreign countries before returning to Germany 2012 and studying Pedagogy as well as working as an artist and photographer while developing a deep interest in Permaculture and food growing. Ruth is rooted in Germany and Ireland, where her partner lives, and works in both countries during the year. Ruth is capturing life stories with her camera – this can be your wedding day, a family trip, you and your passion or anything else that matters to you. In her current work on canvas she is working around the symptom, that we are living a life packed with floods of information. Layer over layer is wrapped over our minds until we lose connection to our true selves. Lost in the haze of consumptions, advertisements, access to knowledge and the digital world.
Take care of yourself, don‘t get lost out there.
